Missionary Evangelists Tony and Marge Abram
By Tony Abram, Tuesday 19th February 2019
It was in 1963 that I first met the Abrams, when they came to minister at my father’s church. At that time, Tony was the Co-Evangelist with Dr. T. L. Osborn’s ministry for the UK’s southern area. God had spoken to me a few days before this, that he would open the door for me to work with the T. L. Osborn Evangelistic Association, but I had no idea how that could be. The Abrams turned up unexpectedly and told me the Continental office had been opened now in Birmingham. I immediately got in touch and within three weeks, I had left my home and gone there, working in the German Dept. of the ministry.
Some years later, now married to George and living in Germany, we came in contact with them again and often had the joy of having Tony and Marge in our home; George interpreted for them many times in meetings in Germany and Switzerland. They were tremendous fun, and our children loved it when Uncle Tony bought each of them a large packet of ice-cream!!
Tony was born in Pennsylvania and raised in a Jewish-Catholic home. His father was Jewish, born in the former Soviet Union. His grandfather studied to be a Rabbi before they came to the USA. His mother’s people were from Slovenia. Tony was converted on the 17th of February 1957 in a Kathryn Kuhlman meeting in Youngstown, Pennsylvania. Marge, his wife was born in Canada from Ukrainian parents. With Tony preaching and praying for the sick, and Marge singing in her attractive alto voice and playing the accordion, God has used them to the salvation and healing of thousands of people.
The Abrams have been in ministry for over 60 years and helped establish hundreds of churches and built Bible Schools. They have never put their own personal names on the buildings or church fellowships. Their ministry is interdenominational and part of the work of God world-wide. They were some of the first to have the mass crusades that have shaken areas of the world with the Gospel of the Kingdom and carried the Gospel with signs following to over 130 countries around the world.
So now, be blessed by this piece which Tony sent to us!
One Minute Sermon
10 Earthly Commandments to follow at all times in Life:
1. Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that you pull out when in trouble, but rather it is a “steering wheel” that directs the right path through Life.
2.Why is a car’s windscreen so large and the rear view mirror so small? It is because our Past is not as important as our Future. So look ahead and move on!
3. Friendship is like a book. It takes only a few seconds to burn but it takes years to write.
4. All things in Life are temporary. If it’s going well, enjoy it, it won’t last long. If it’s going badly, don’t worry, that won’t last long either!
5. Old friends are gold! New friends are diamonds! If you get a diamond, don’t forget the gold, because to hold a diamond you always need a base of gold!
6. Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, “Relax, it’s just a bend, not the end!”
7. When God solves your problems, you have faith in his abilities; when God doesn’t solve your problems, he has faith in your abilities.
8. A blind person asked St. Anthony, “Can there be anything worse than losing eyesight?!” He replied, “Yes, losing your vision!”
9. When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
10. Worrying does not take away Tomorrow’s troubles; it takes away Today’s peace.
