Let’s Hear when the Spirit Speaks!

Just before I woke up on Wednesday morning this week, I had a dream, where I saw myself giving a prophetic word in a meeting. It began with:

“The Lord is near! The Day of the Lord is near! The Day of the Coming of the Lord is near…” It went on to say that we must prepare our hearts, that there are things that will happen automatically, where we have no influence on them. But there are other things/events where God wants us to work together with him, in order for them to come to pass.

While I was still prophesying in my dream, I could hear some of the people present ignored this and started to clear up and put things away. They had no respect for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Their own agenda was more important to them. They were the very ones God was speaking to, and they weren’t listening or caring! In my dream I then stopped the prophecy, and I woke up.

As I considered this dream and its message, I was reminded of something that happened in 1970. George, I and our 2 year old son, were travelling for seven months. We ministered in Germany, Sweden, Holland and three months in Switzerland. During a conference in Switzerland, George was asked to say a word to the ministers. He told how God had recently been dealing with him concerning giving more room to the Holy Spirit in his life. He urged his fellow-ministers to let God do a new thing in them and their churches.

After he finished speaking, one man had a vision where he saw the whole group praising and worshipping the Lord. Some of them had tongues of fire over their heads, others did not. The message was given that although outwardly they all seemed to be praising and worshipping, some of them were not doing it from their heart, it was just outward show. God was calling them into a deeper walk with himself.

So this is my message to myself and to you, my dear devotionalsjust4u!! friends, today! Are we listening to the Holy Spirit, as he calls us into a deeper walk and relationship with our Saviour? Are we letting the Spirit prepare us for the days ahead, which will be increasingly difficult as we are in the ‘Last days’? But while the days become darker, yet the Lord will be pouring out his Spirit in a new way on those whose hearts are prepared. I want to be one of those who will help to bring in the Endtime Harvest of souls! I want to be one of those who are looking for the Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ – the Rapture – when he will catch us away to be with himself. What about you? Or are you turning a deaf ear and being busy with your own agenda?

I would encourage and urge you today, to listen for that still, small voice and open your spiritual ears, for the Spirit to speak and move in you! He’s waiting for you today!
