GOD AT WORK IN UKRAINE!

By Helen Jesze, 4th March 2022

“The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.”

Ps. 34:7 ESV

A lady missionary to Ukraine who was sent to safety with her children, writes: “It is a David and Goliath kind of story. What the government of Russia underestimated is the spirit of the Ukrainian people, and they will fight for their home, they will fight for their liberty.” Although keeping him in much prayer, she says she has peace about her husband who is still there, and goes on:

“We’re hearing time and time again, that the Ukrainian army is saying ‘we recognise that there’s no reason that we are able to hold back the enemy forces’, they know that God is helping them, they’re seeing miracle after miracle; bombs dropping that don’t explode, Russian tanks that run out of gas for no reason, Russian soldiers who are putting down their weapons and giving themselves up as POWs because they’re not passionate about this conflict.”

A friend emailed this message she received from a pastor in L., Ukraine:

“Please tell your people, because of their prayers, God really fights our battles. The rockets disappear in the air without reaching our homes and no one knows where did they go, enemy tanks run out of fuel, Russian troops get lost and ask our locals for food and directions – that is definitely God because we are dealing with the second strongest army in the world. And this morning L. and other major cities did not have to run to their basements. Thank you for your prayers!”

Breaking Christian News – BCN, 3rd March 2022, reports the following:

A pastor in Belarus reported that his fellow Ukrainian brothers and sisters in faith had felt the power of prayers amid the terrors of war. He shared that Ukrainian soldiers believed God was helping them because strange things were happening in their midst.

Ukrainian Soldiers

“Reports from quite a number of soldiers are saying strange things are happening,” he said. “They’re saying, ‘we’re seeing things at night that we don’t normally see that save us.’”

He continued, “’It seems like sometimes bullets are just passing us by, instead of hitting us’ and things like this.” This pastor, who wanted to remain anonymous, has lived in Belarus for 12 years. He has been serving Holocaust survivors in Belarus and has a lot of friends across Ukraine. And the testimonies from his Ukrainian friends have encouraged him and other believers that God has been answering our prayers. One of his Ukrainian pastor friends said that their current situation made him feel like “he is dreaming.”

A great move of God’s Spirit

Thankfully, God had already warned him and his congregation and promised them victory through it all. God led them to open Psalm 25, where it is written, “I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.”

“When we go through these hard times, then we, you know, reap joy and something good,” he said.

He noted that they received a prophecy back in the Fall that “there was going to be a hard time coming to Ukraine.” “And then, afterward, it was going to be one of the best times…” something like that… it’s going to be one of the best times for Ukraine. And I understood that probably meant, you know, a great move of God’s spirit.” Furthermore, the Belarus pastor claimed that they are very much “in shock and dismayed that their territory is being used for an invasion of a friendly nation.”
