“How long will you forget me, O Lord? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long must I lay up cares within me and have sorrow in my heart day after day? Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; lighten the eyes (of my faith to behold Your face in the pitchlike darkness)…

Lest my enemy say, I have prevailed over him, and those that trouble me rejoice when I am shaken. But I have trusted, leaned on, and been confident in Your mercy and loving-kindness; my heart shall rejoice and be in high spirits in Your salvation, I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.”

Verses from Psalm 13 The Amplified Bible

Lord, I’m really tired of living in defeat, tired of the travail and not bringing forth,

Just drifting along, singing the same old song.

Tired of the words that nobody hears, tired of the strife with the kids and the wife.

Too tired to dream, for it often seems, that you don’t care, or remember I’m there!

Too tired to face the piles of bills, Life’s crushing pressures and its ills.

From every side, without, within, too tired to start, to even begin.

O Lord, do you care, understand my plight? Do you really care about my fight

Enough to change situations for me, really care intensively?

Do you care enough about  my fears, care enough to dry my tears?

Do you see the struggle in my breast, and understand that I need rest?

I am so weary, so depressed, O Lord, can I put you to the test?

It seems when days and nights are long you’re a silent spectator looking on.

I’m struggling in so many ways, I’m fighting on through endless days.

O Lord, it seems you don’t care at all whether I stand or whether I fall!

“How futile are your hopes and dreams!” whispers the devil,

In the time of “it seems”.

How long before will come that day when you’ll intervene

And make a way?

You had your struggles, walked this path too, Lord, it’s been good

 Just talking to you!”

The very act of unburdening myself has brought me peace,

Has brought me  health.

Your sun is driving the mists away, I see clearer now, see another day!

I see there’s victory ahead, I’ll worship you, lift up my head,

And tell my feelings how to feel, for the promises of God are real.

I rise in faith and am on my way with a new assurance, to another new day,

And though my eyes are stained with tears, through the rays of your sun –

A rainbow appears like a prism displaying red, yellow and blue

O I love you, Lord – I worship you!

Yes, you’ve dried my tears with the love of your Son,

So I’ll arise and go, and with you run!

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard (him) and saved him out of

all his troubles,” Psalm 34:6 KJV

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, thank you that you stand with us in our times of distress, in the time of “it seems”, that you

do not cast us off; that you are the One who will not break a bruised reed but will strengthen it and make it strong!

Thank you for the rainbow of your mercy which extends and glows in

the sky of our lives, and reminds us of your greatness and the covenant

you will never break. Touch every one of my friends, lift them up and

cause them to arise and run to you, run with you, casting off the

depression of the enemy, entering into the victory you procured for us

on Calvary!

Be glorified in our lives today, we pray! Amen.
