Dear devotionalsjust4u!! Friends,
Because of work being done in our house, things have been quite hectic for the last two or three weeks, but I want to send you a short greeting again today. Thank you to those who write me, it is always an encouragement to hear from you!
Today was my husband, George’s birthday. Some of the family came and we went out for dinner in a favourite restaurant, then home for cake and presents. He is now 79 years old, and I thank the Lord for keeping and blessing him all these years. Yesterday we heard that the well-known evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, (George has interpreted for him several times in Germany and Switzerland), went home to be with the Lord yesterday at the end of 79. Our thoughts and prayers go to Sister Anni his wife and the family, and I thank God that my darling is still with me.
One birthday card that George received had the following thoughts and truths from Psalm 91:
- God is your God
- Your Refuge
- Your Fortress
- Your Defender
- Your Protector
- Your Shelter
- Your Place of Safety
- Your Shield
- Your Deliverer
- Your health
- Your Habitation
- Your Rest
- Your Peace
- Your Tower of Strength
- Your Salvation
These are not just for George, but for every one of God’s Children. May they encourage and uphold you in the coming week. For those of us in the UK, we have Election Day on Thursday 12th December. Let us pray earnestly about the crisis we have in our nation at the moment, ask God for guidance and go and use the precious vote that we have to restore some order, get Brexit done and behind us, leave Europe as the people wished, and keep Communists and Anti-Semites out of 10 Downing Street! I do not apologise for being ‘political’. God made nations and sent his prophets with messages to kings and leaders, calling them back to God but also giving political and military strategies and showing how much he cared about this.
Prayer: Father, I bless every one of my friends tonight. Be their strength and wisdom in all the affairs of Life, surround them with your peace and joy! We magnify you for your unconditional love to us all! Amen.
