Wishing you a blessed New Year

Dear devotionalsjust4u!! Friends,

I trust you are keeping well and have enjoyed a good Christmas!

We stand at the threshold of 2023, and while we do not know what the future holds, yet we know who holds the future — our wonderful Saviour! I once wrote a song and some of the verses go like this:

I’m in his hand, I’m in his hand
I will not fear, I’m in his hand.
And though I cannot always understand,
I’m in his hand, his nail-scarred hand.

I’m near his side, I’m near his side
And evermore I’ll here abide. And from the storm he will me always hide,
I’m near his side, his spear-thrust side.

I’m under his wings, I’m under his wings.
They cover me from everything.
And though the world around me rock and swing
I’m under his wing, his covering wing.

The new year 2023 will hold good, wonderful moments but it will also hold things we can’t understand, where we would rather run and hide from them and their consequences; it will hold memories to be treasured but times when we might want to say like the old song said, “Stop the world, I want to get off!”
But those nail-scarred hands of Jesus, those over-shadowing wings, those strong yet tender arms will hold us to his heart, protecting and bringing us through the storm. There’s always a new Tomorrow with our Jesus! May you experience it in a new way in the coming year!
